25 years ago I ended my education as a engineer and started the very next day in Contex A/S where I am still working. Contex A/S is the leading supplier of large format scanners and large format scanners became and still is my passion. I live and breath for scanning large documents.
During my first many years in Contex I worked as a programmer in the team that made the software that controlled the scanning process. We are back in the days where DOS was the name of the game and MAC just got started. Later we moved on to all the UNIX platforms and ended, like the rest of the world, in Windows.
These were happy days, and the whole team enjoyed the high speed innovation and the demand for new better solutions. Later the burden of management caught up with us, and for the past 10 years I have not created a single line of code.
Until 1 year ago, where I decided that it was time to refind that passion of creation, even my current position does not leave me time to do so. I bought myself a real computer. in my job I use a laptop, and set out to search for my creative soul - to figure out how programming is done today. I started my new hobby...

I decided to get into programming the web, as this seemed to be the thing today. back in the days, we did not even have emails. And naturally my hobby project need to be about large format scanned documents. so I decided to do a DROPBOX look alike for scanned documents.
Scanned documents are just like any other file, just it is BIG - Many Mb - and the content is an image, something you would like to look at. The source is a piece of paper, that you have feed through a (Contex) scanner and want to work with - somehow.
This is what LargeFormatCloud is all about - HUGE files shared in the cloud.
